NOURISH Online Course – starts Jan 31st, 2024

NOURISH is an online wellness course which coaches you on real self care, gentle nutrition & sustainble weight management. Eating well to nourish your body, your mind and to manage your weight is so important for overall health and wellbeing. However, feeling your best is not just about eating the right food, it’s so much more than that, and that’s why Nourish takes a holistic approach to wellness and weight management. Holistic weight management addresses the physical, mental and emotional factors that drive our eating behaviour and lifestyle choices. This helps you to develop personalised strategies that are rooted in self care, self-love, and nourishment.

How does it work? Over 8 weekly sessions, Nourish provides online coaching to attendants via live zoom sessions, this allows for a real connection between Elsa & the group. Recordings are sent out the following day so you never have to miss a session. Sessions take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Next Course commence 31st January, 2024.

Over 8 weeks I will guide you through effective nutrition principles and mindful eating practices. Alongside this, I will arm you with powerful coaching tools that will enable you to:

  • Tap into real and lasting motivation
  • Overcome cravings and comfort eating.
  • Truly value and prioritise your own self-care without any guilt.
  • Set daily intentions to nourish your body and mind.

  • Replace Emotional Eating with Mindful Eating practices that feel good.

Who the coach is: Elsa Jones is a qualified Nutritional Therapist with 13 years experience coaching clients in Nutrition & Mind-Body weight management. Elsa holds a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT*) and has completed mindfulness training. More recently, she completed an Advanced Diploma in Transformative Coaching (ICF accredited) to bring more powerful coaching tools to her clients.

She is the author of the No. 1 bestselling book ‘Goodbye sugar’ and features regularly on Irish media as a nutrition expert, you can often hear her on Today FM radio with Dermot & Dave talking all things health & wellness.

*Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological therapy which examines how your thoughts affect your behaviours. In this context, we look at how our thoughts and emotions affect our eating behaviour.  *

My philosophy – My own personal approach to diet and health is pretty balanced and flexible. I work towards an 80:20 approach to diet and encourage most of my clients to do the same, so about eighty per cent of the time we make healthy food choices which gives the freedom to enjoy a little of whatever we fancy the rest of the time. This balance can look different for everyone, depending on various factors.

I consider myself a very practical nutritionist in that my nutrition advice is  realistic for every- day life. I don’t subscribe to or preach about any one style of eating because I truly believe there is no ‘wrong’ or ‘right’ diet, it’s about figuring out what’s right for you. In other words, what helps YOU look and feel your best and fits in with your lifestyle. This may take some experimentation.

I’m a big believer that ‘Good Food is Good Medicine’, but, by the same token, I don’t believe that diet is the ‘be all and end all’ either – good sleep, effective stress management, movement, connection, joy and a positive mental attitude are just as important to our overall health & wellbeing.

What’s the environment/vibe of the group? The group environment is warm, informal, supportive and non-judgmental. There are no weigh-ins, no preachy finger-wagging and no pressure whatsoever to share your personal experiences. I ensure that attendants feel comfortable to ask all types of questions and share as much or as little as they wish with the group. I also welcome a bit of fun & laughter to keep the mood light & positive.  There is no pressure whatsoever to share but even listening to others experiences and questions can be really helpful and supportive, it can make us feel less alone when we realise others have the same challenges as us and also really inspired when you hear other people making great progress.

My focus has changed to eating for my health and not just to control calories and weight

Is there a set diet plan or food rules that need to be followed? In a word, no. There is no set diet plan or food rules to follow. However, I do provide a framework to work off of which is based on effective healthy eating principles that will help you manage your weight and boost your overall health. My goal is to simplify nutrition so it feels do-able and enjoyable for you. There are also a collection of healthy recipes for you to try.

Some members will come with a specific weight loss goal in mind, others may simply wish to build their nutrition knowledge, improve eating habits and feel better in themselves. For others, it may be more about shifting mindset around self care and maintaining motivation in a supportive environment.
