Introduction

I’m delighted to have you on board and to be part of your journey towards better health!  The main principle behind ‘The Perfect Balance Plan’ is balance, hence the title.   It’s simply about eating the right foods in the right amounts. The Perfect Balance Plan helps you achieve the ideal balance between protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats at meal times which will keep your blood sugar levels stable and keep you full and satisfied.

It’s important for you to know from the start that this is not a short-term diet, it’s a way of life.

How & Why This Program Works

My Perfect Balance Plan is designed around a low GI style of eating which helps to keep blood sugar levels stable. This in turn helps to reduce cravings for sugar and refined carbohydrates making weight management easier. It also helps with energy & mood balance. The Glycemic Index (GI) is a numerical system of measuring the degree to which a carbohydrate is likely to raise your blood sugar and insulin levels. The lower a food’s glycemic index, the less it affects blood sugar and insulin levels. The higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. So a low GI food will cause a small rise in blood sugar, while a high GI food will trigger a dramatic rise (spike) in blood sugar.

But, you don’t need to get bogged down with GI rating systems or start counting scores. I’ve done the work for you. Just know that on this program, I’ll be steering you away from high GI foods because my meal suggestions and recipes predominantly focus on low to medium GI foods that’ll keep your blood sugars stable and stave off cravings.This is a Low sugar plan designed to help you reduce your sugar intake to a level that works for you.
