I’m a big believer in eating little and often in order to keep the metabolism revved and to avoid blood sugar dips which often lead to energy slumps. I always advice my clients to eat three core meals per day along with a mid morning and mid afternoon snack. I try to keep healthy snacks close to hand so that I have no excuse when temptation strikes. It’s also a great way to ward off those dreaded mid afternoon slumps. So, what constitutues a health snack I hear you ask? See below for a few ideas:
Healthy Snack Ideas
- Probiotic Natural yogurt with berries or stewed apples with cinnamon
- Almond or Cashew Nut butter spread on sliced apple
- A palmful of nuts/seeds with a piece of fruit
- 1-2 Oatcakes with Hummus/Nut Butter/Cottage Cheese
- Vegetable Crudités (e.g. raw pepper/celery/carrot sticks) with Hummus
- 1 Sliced hard boiled egg with sliced tomato on Ryvita
- A half an avocado sliced or mashed on oatcake/Ryvita
Happy Snacking 🙂
